RECRUITMENT
We intend to strengthen the branch committee and we need members who will get involved with the running of the branch. “Do I get any time to do this job”?
Well the answer is Yes! Time off from teaching duties are available to branch officials.
What are you doing about it”? A question often put to branch officials, well there is a simple answer to this question. “What have you contributed as a member of NATFHE”? Do you attend meetings? Do you pass on information to your branch officials? Or do you simply leave it too late and only get involved when you have a problem at work?
Without you as a member there simply is no union. Following lengthy consultation with the College management NATFHE continues to be the only union recognized by the college management to represent lecturing staff.
To strengthen our position we need to recruit more members and we need your help.
“What has NATFHE ever done for me “?
A lot more than you would realize, from collective bargaining to representation for case work.
You do not need me to tell you that there have been a lot of changes in the last five years to our working conditions! As a branch we will continue to oppose any changes that we feel erode our working conditions any further, the only way to do that effectively is to unite together as a collective group and make changes happen - we can't do this without your help.
We need more members, please do your bit and help with our recruitment campaign.
Membership form are available from Charlie Gilkeson Ex. 417
Fran Kinchin Ex. 285 and Jenny Scott Ex. 224
